OUR TOURS ARE NOT PARANORMAL INVESTIGATIONS OR GHOST HUNTS

Built in 1600 by Edward Rice, Newton House takes its name from the ‘New Town’ built for English settlers in the medieval period. The current house was built on a site that has been occupied for two thousand years.
Successive members of the Rice family have added to the house, making it a mixture of different styles as the family grew and the needs of the different family members were taken into account.
During the 18th Century the only daughter of William Talbot of Hensol Castle married into the Rice family. She brought with her a huge fortune and altered the gardens.
In the 20th century the family was hit with double death duties which meant they turned to the National Trust to look after the gardens and in 1990 the National Trust took on Newton House itself.
However, when darkness falls it seems there are some uninvited guests roaming the corridors. Staff and guests have reported some very strange things over the years.
Many paranormal teams have been inside this incredible house and reported some very intense feelings and strange activities throughout.
There are even signs that the former inhabitants clearly believed in the supernatural and tried to protect themselves from it.
There are no gimmicks or actors lined up to jump out on us and this is NOT a paranormal investigation, nor can we guarantee any ghostly phenomena will occur. We have faithfully researched the history of the house and the paranormal stories we tell you are true accounts of what the staff, visitors and guests on the tours have experienced at Newton House over the years.
